License
OpenERP is released under the AGPL license (Affero GNU Public License), the most restrictive of the open source licenses. At the same time, the AGPL allows a better protection of the customizations and new features developed by third parties by checking that the customized source is released under the same licence for those services reachable by the Internet.
Business Model
OpenERP doesn't provide Professional or Community editions. All the source code is freely available.
Every user, not only those paying for high-value services, can download the source code of the software.
The consultants and companies network composing the international OpenERP community is leaded by OpenERP SA, a Belgian company which is the editor of the software.
OpenERP SA delivers professional services, reselled by the partners on theirs countries. Among these services we can find technical support, needs analysis, new features development and much more.
